Die Abflussmessung ist ein Verfahren in der Hydrologie und dient der Messung von Fließgeschwindigkeiten in Fließgewässern. Man unterscheidet zwei verschiedene Verfahren: einerseits die Flügelmessung, bei der mechanisch über Wasserflügel die Fließgeschwindigkeit ermittelt wird, andererseits das Tracerverfahren, bei dem die Konzentration von Markierungsstoffen im Fließgewässer Rückschlüsse auf die Geschwindigkeit ermöglicht. Die Messung kann auch über ADCP per Ultraschall erfolgen. Diese Messung erfolgt aufgrund des Doppler-Effekts unter Wasser.
