Der Bauerntanz ist eine barocke Fachwerkverzierung, welche offenbar zuerst in Süddeutschland im Fachwerk als Verzierung hauptsächlich auf der Vorderseite des Hauses zur Weg- oder Straßenseite eingesetzt wurde und eher vereinzelt in Norddeutschland eingebaut wurde. Kennzeichen sind zwei Figuren übereinandergelegt: ein Kreuz sowie eine Raute. Regional wird der Bauerntanz auch Türkenkreuz[1], Bordesholmer Kreuz[2] oder einfach der Geometrie nach Rautenkreuz[3] genannt.
