Als Entkernung bezeichnet man im Bauwesen den Teil-Abriss eines bestehenden Gebäudes, bei dem in der Regel lediglich die Fassade erhalten bleibt. Entkernungen werden vor allem durchgeführt, wenn die Fassade eines Gebäudes erhalten bleiben soll, die dahinterliegende Struktur aber baufällig ist oder aus anderen Gründen nicht mehr genutzt werden kann. Hinter der zumeist historischen Fassade wird dann nach der Entkernung eine moderne Gebäudestruktur errichtet, manchmal vereinigt man dabei sogar mehrere ursprünglich selbständige Gebäude zu einer größeren Einheit. Entkernungen werden durch professionelle Abbruchunternehmen oder spezialisierte Bauunternehmen durchgeführt.
