Mit Frontallappen oder Stirnlappen des Gehirns der Säugetiere werden jeweils die vorderen Lappen der beiden annähernd spiegelgleichen Hälften des Großhirns bezeichnet. Der Frontallappen ist einer von vier Teilen des Neokortex, die jeweils unterschiedliche Aufgaben übernehmen. Der Frontallappen erfüllt motorische Funktionen, er steuert und kontrolliert also Bewegungen. Des Weiteren gilt das Stirnhirn als Sitz der Persönlichkeit und des Sozialverhaltens.
