Die Kontinentalsperre war eine von Napoleon am 21. November 1806 in Berlin verfügte Wirtschaftsblockade über das Vereinigte Königreich und dessen Kolonien. Großbritannien sollte mit den Mitteln des Wirtschaftskrieges in die Knie gezwungen und die französische Wirtschaft gegen europäische und transatlantische Konkurrenz geschützt werden. Die Kontinentalsperre hatte bis 1813 Bestand.
