Kulturpalast hießen und heißen in sozialistischen und ehemals sozialistischen Ländern sehr große, kulturellen Zwecken gewidmete Gebäude, häufig mit Kino, Theater, Diskothek, Restaurant, Ausstellungen, Bibliotheken, Sportanlagen und Veranstaltungsräumen und anderem ausgerüstet. Sie wurden zumeist in den größeren Städten oder Hauptstädten gebaut. In den 1950er Jahren sollten sie unter dem Einfluss der stalinschen Architekturdoktrin häufig die Funktion des zentralen, silhouettenprägenden Hochhauses übernehmen . Die kleineren Einrichtungen mit diesem Zweck heißen meist Kulturhaus, wurden aber in manchen Fällen ebenfalls Kulturpalast genannt.
