Leichtbeton ist nach den deutschen Normen ein Beton mit einer Trockenrohdichte von maximal 2000 kgm³. Der Leichtbeton wird unterschieden in Leichtbeton mit geschlossenem Gefüge mit Kornporosität, bspw. aus Blähton und Leichtbeton mit haufwerksporigem Gefüge mit dichten Zuschlägen mit Kornporosität. Porenbeton zählt nicht zur Gruppe der Leichtbetone.
