Lipgloss gibt es in nahezu jeder Ausführung, Farbe und Aroma und wird von den meisten Kosmetikherstellern in jeder Preisklasse angeboten. Jüngere Frauen ziehen Lipgloss oft dem Lippenstift vor bzw. nutzen ihn als Einstiegsprodukt in die Kosmetikwelt, da er mit einem jungen, sexy Look assoziiert wird ? aber auch ältere Frauen tragen ihn gerne, da er kleine Lippenfältchen kaschiert. Im Gegensatz zum herkömmlichen Lippenstift enthält der Lipgloss in der Regel auch nur drei Prozent an Farbpigmenten, was ungefähr ein Viertel weniger ist.
