Kriterien für die Zuordnung sind beispielsweise Bedarfs- oder produktionstechnische Zusammenhänge. Die zu einer Produktgruppe gehörende Einzelprodukte können dabei im Verhältnis zueinander gleiche, die gleichen Bedürfnisse befriedigende Komplementärgüter oder Substitutionsgüter wie integrierte Bauteile sowie Zubehör und Betriebsstoffe sein.[1][2]
