Rizin oder Ricin ist ein äußerst giftiges Protein aus den Samenschalen des Wunderbaums aus der Familie der Wolfsmilchgewächse. Es ist eines der giftigsten Proteine, die in der Natur vorkommen. Chemisch ist das Protein Rizin ein Lektin, das aus einer zellbindenden und einer giftigkeitsvermittelnden Komponente besteht. Seine Giftigkeit wird auf eine Hemmung der eukaryotischen Proteinbiosynthese zurückgeführt.
