Die Rochade ist der Spielzug im Schach, bei dem König und Turm einer Farbe bewegt werden. Es handelt sich um den einzigen Doppelzug , der nach den Schachregeln erlaubt ist. Indem ein Spieler die Rochade ausführt bzw. rochiert, verfolgt er das Ziel, den König in eine sichere Position zu bringen und den beteiligten Turm zu entwickeln. Die Rochade darf von jedem Spieler pro Partie nur einmal ausgeführt werden; ihre Zulässigkeit ist an eine Reihe von Bedingungen geknüpft. Unterschieden werden die kurze und die lange Rochade.
