Der Schrupp- oder Schropphobel ist ein Handhobel zur spanenden Bearbeitung von Holz. Man verwendet ihn zum Schruppen, das heißt dem Abnehmen recht dicker Hobelspäne beim ersten Glätten sägerauher Hölzer oder zum Verringern der Dicke eines Werkstückes. Bei der Arbeit mit dem Schrupphobel bedient man sich häufig der Technik des Zwerchens, bei der der Hobel nicht parallel zur Faserrichtung, sondern schräg zu dieser geführt wird.
