Als Spannungsquelle bezeichnet man in der Schaltungstheorie der Elektrotechnik einen aktiven Zweipol, der zwischen seinen Anschlusspunkten eine elektrische Spannung liefert. Als wesentliche Eigenschaft hängt diese Spannung nur gering, oder bei dem Modell der idealen Spannungsquelle im Rahmen der Netzwerkanalyse gar nicht, von dem elektrischen Strom ab, welcher der Quelle entnommen wird. Die gelieferte elektrische Spannung ist im Idealfall somit unabhängig vom jeweilig angeschlossenen Verbraucher. Liefert die Spannungsquelle eine zeitlich konstante Gleichspannung, wird sie auch als Konstantspannungsquelle bezeichnet.
