Er ist eine traditionelle Zwischenmahlzeit in Süddeutschland, dem Elsass, der Schweiz und in Österreich, wo er, aus Knackwurst oder Extrawurst zubereitet, auch Saure Wurst und Essigwurst genannt wird.
