Es gibt labiodentale Laute , labio-labiale Laute, an deren Bildung Ober- und Unterlippe beteiligt sind sowie apiko-labiale Laute. Apiko-labiale Laute gibt es in einigen kaukasischen Sprachen. Hierbei ist der Artikulator die Zungenspitze und die Artikulationsstelle die Oberlippe.
