Biosensoren sind Messfühler, die mit biologischen Komponenten ausgestattet sind. Diese werden in der biotechnologischen Messtechnik angewendet. Der Begriff wurde im Jahr 1977 von Karl Cammann geprägt; seit 1997 gibt es eine Definition der IUPAC dafür.[1]
