Unter der Exportquote versteht man das Verhältnis der Exporte einer Volkswirtschaft zu ihrem Bruttoinlandsprodukt. Sie gibt somit Aufschluss über den Umfang des Handels, den die Volkswirtschaft treibt. Ein vergleichbarer Begriff ist die Importquote. Die Exportquote wird, im Gegensatz zur Importquote, herangezogen um den Grad der Offenheit einer Volkswirtschaft zu beurteilen. Somit kann festgestellt werden, welchen Anteil seiner Güter und Dienstleistungen ein Land selbst verbraucht und welchen Anteil es exportiert. Der Offenheitsgrad bezeichnet den Mittelwert aus Exportquote und Importquote. Die Exportquote betrug in Deutschland im Jahr 2012 41,1 %.
