Granulit ist ein fein- bis mittelkörniges metamorphes Gestein (ein Metamorphit oder Umwandlungsgestein) mit einem feinkörnigen, gleichmäßigen Gefüge, das unter hohem Druck und hoher Temperatur entstanden ist. Hauptbestandteile sind Feldspat mit Quarz und Granat. Es ist feinkörniger als Granit, woraus sich der Name ableitet. In Deutschland kommt Granulit im Sächsischen Granulitgebirge vor. In Österreich besteht beispielsweise der Dunkelsteinerwald überwiegend aus Granulit.
