Oberverwaltungsgericht ist in Deutschland die Bezeichnung für das jeweils höchste Gericht der Verwaltungsgerichtsbarkeit des Landes. In jedem deutschen Land bestand und besteht grundsätzlich bis heute nur ein solches Gericht, der Gerichtsbezirk erstreckt sich also immer auf dessen gesamtes Gebiet. Ausnahmen waren die Länder Niedersachsen und Schleswig-Holstein, für die von 1949 bis 1991 das OVG Lüneburg zuständig war, und sind die Länder Berlin und Brandenburg, die 2005 ein gemeinsames OVG in Berlin errichteten. In den drei Bundesländern Baden-Württemberg, Bayern und Hessen wird das OVG aus historischen Gründen Verwaltungsgerichtshof genannt; eine abweichende Zuständigkeit ist damit aber nicht verbunden.
