Ein Raddampfer ist ein Schiff, das von zwei seitlichen Schaufelrädern oder einem sich am Heck befindenden Rad angetrieben wird. Das Schaufelrad wird dabei durch die Kraft einer Dampfmaschine angetrieben, die ihrerseits von einem Dampfkessel gespeist wird. Raddampfer zum Schleppen von Lastkähnen werden Raddampfschlepper genannt.
