Die Signalboje wird auch Nachrichtenboje oder Dekoboje genannt und auf englisch als surface marker buoy oder safety sausage bezeichnet und ist Teil der Tauchausrüstung. Sie wird von Tauchern verwendet, um ihre Position an der Oberfläche sichtbar zu machen, Botschaften zur Oberfläche zu transportieren oder dient als Tiefenreferenz bei einem Freiwasseraufstieg. Weiter dienen sie auch dazu einen an der Wasseroberfläche treibenden Taucher bei hohem Seegang oder starker Strömung schnell zu finden.
