Als Speisewasser wird Wasser bezeichnet, das in einem Speisewasserbehälter vorgehalten wird und kontinuierlich einem Dampferzeuger zugespeist wird. Große Mengen von Speisewasser werden in Dampfkraftwerken benötigt. Der Dampfkessel erzeugt Wasserdampf, der zum Beheizen, für verfahrenstechnische Prozesse oder zum Antrieb einer Dampfturbine bzw. Dampfmaschine genutzt wird. Das Speisewasser wird so aufbereitet, dass für den Betrieb des Kessels schädliche Bestandteile des Wassers entfernt oder in Stoffe umgesetzt worden sind, die keine nachteilige Wirkung auf den Kesselbetrieb haben.
