Spekulatius ist ein aus Belgien und den Niederlanden, aber auch dem Rheinland und Westfalen stammendes Gebäck aus Mürbeteig. Niederländisch wird es als Speculaas, französisch als spéculoos bezeichnet. Während der Spekulatius in Deutschland ein typisches Weihnachtsgebäck ist, wird er in den Niederlanden und in Belgien ganzjährig gegessen. Spekulatius gibt es ebenfalls ganzjährig in Indonesien, einer ehemals niederländischen Kolonie.
